Adding Simple Fall Touches

Sometimes we have the best intentions of doing something really spectacular, but then life gets in the way and we end up doing something smaller, but still turns out great.

That’s what happened with my Fall Home Tour. As bloggers we have to stay ahead of the seasons. We love to encourage, inspire and motivate you to create a space you love and enjoy. Which means we have to do it a little earlier than normal to give you time to implement the ideas if we inspire you.

I started decorating for Fall in August. When I say decorating I mean I brought out my 2 totes of fall decor out of the closet.

Then they sat there. I would pull one thing out, then maybe a day later pull another item out.

If there was a miracle where I had a few minutes to spare between a toddler and and newborn where I could style a small surface I did.

A full Fall Home Tour did not happen. But I am still enjoying my little styled vignettes.

I decided to show you my little pops of Fall to show you even if you can’t deck out your whole house you can still implement the seasons into your decor.

So to take you through little parts of my home, in the living room I brought out my muted great pillows for Fall but I also purchased this adorable Owl pillow cover at Hobby Lobby.

For the end table a stack of books tied with twine is the perfect pedestal for this little pumpkin! I was going to paint it white because I’m a neutral girl but I ended up liking the little pop of orange.

Fall decor in the living room

You might have seen from a previous post my new dining room shelves. I love that I now have this little extra space to style for the seasons!

Fall Dining Room

The shelves are decorated with a mash of seasonal items, thrift store finds and small DIY projects.

Fall Shelf Decor

Simple decor can consist of Acorns in a mason jar decorated with a piece of lace. The picture in the background is from our Honeymoon in Italy. You can see more in my post about displaying meaningful art.

Twiggy Pumpkin

This little twiggy pumpkin was purchased at The Dollar Store last year! You can find some amazing finds in there!

Antique Drawer Fall

I purchased this old drawer at a local flea market and tossed some pumpkins and fall flowers inside for a perfect little spot. I love the detail on this drawer face.

Fall Vignette

Dressing up a family photo with some dried hydrangeas, pumpkins, pinecones and a mini grateful sign. A little secret..the wood piece in the background is the top to my laundry hamper! We can’t use tops because all the clothes just land on the top and not in the basket but it was so pretty I had to use it somewhere!

Fall Centerpiece

For the dining room table I literally just placed a bunch of fall items in a big bowl. Perfect for our busy family that needs to clear the table quickly for meals, play-doh and games.

Don’t worry, I’ll be doing a whole Thanksgiving Table Setting Blog Hop with some amazing bloggers in November!

Moving into the sunroom…

Fall Sunrom

Remember the Wood Table Box I made last week? Well it got a fall makeover with some unexpected items. Fall Coffee Table

Birch logs, fall flowers, pinecones and old bottles give this room a Fall but still “sunroomy” feel.

So if you’re still thinking about Fall decor remember it doesn’t have to be extravagant. Simple is beautiful too!
