Raised Ranch Dining Room Reveal

I can finally say after years of purchasing our home, that we have ONE room completely done! Our dining room!

When we looked at the house for a second time before we put in an offer this is how the dining room looked.

This is how it looks today…

I waited a year for my amazing father to build me my amazing farmhouse table. It’s a gorgeous table that the plans were genoursly provided by Shanty 2 Chic. I love it and he did an awesome job.

After that the table was done in October, we ordered chairs from a local store that specializes in unfinished wood pieces. We ordered them in the begining of November thinking they would be here by the new year. Well, they were backordered and we didn’t get them until March. But we still had to paint them…what annoying process that was! Those spindles are no joke, but I am so happy with the way they turned out. I love the way the white chairs look against the dark table. It gives it a touch of modern in a very traditional space.

Other touches in the room include my ever changing gallery wall. I keep reworking this wall but I think I have a look that I like right now.

The dining room light is the same light that was there before, I just updated it for less than $20! See the tutorial here.

The corner shelves are from Hobby Lobby. I like that I can keep changing them as well with the seasons. I think they add a lot of warmth to the space.

Curtains are Threshold from Target. If I do change anything in this room it might be these. They were one of the first things I purchased for the room when we moved in. They’re just not hanging the way I would like them to.

I could have really staged the photo with some elaborate centerpiece on the table but right now this single bowl is pretty but also useful. When it’s time to eat, anything on on the table gets thrown into the bowl and set aside.

I love this room now. When my son gets up in the morning and comes out to eat breakfast. One of the first things he wants me to do is open the curtains so the sun shines in.
