So you might have figured out that I love burlap. You saw my Easiest Burlap Wreath Ever Video right? Well, I have a ton and I always think of a lot of projects I would love to do with it, but on the other hand I don’t want my house covered in burlap either.
I thought this project was really cute and it was subtle with the burlap. It gives a great texture without seeing burlap everywhere.
I looked through my burlap collection and found leftover 5″ ribbon and a small 1′ wired ribbon that had a little color edging so I thought it would be a nice contrast.
I found a frame that wasn’t being used, took out the backing and started to line up my 5″ ribbon. I then placed the 1′ ribbon the opposite way and lined it up for spacing.
Then I just started weaving the ribbon.
Once I had everything where I wanted it, I used packaging tape (since it was sitting in my junk drawer) and taped it to the back of the cardboard backing.
Put the frame back on and voila. So easy! It’s perfect to hold the special holiday cards, and once the holidays are over it’s great as a little memo board, mail organizer or picture frame! What to do you think?
