I can’t believe we only have 2 more weeks of Calling it Home’s One Room Challenge! I really need to kick my butt into gear especially since I didn’t really do much this week! I spent the first half of the week finishing our kitchen cabinets (I will show them soon!) and then I went home to visit family and to attend a ceremony honoring my Great Grandfather who was the Chief of Police in town.
So regardless I did manage to complete few small things on my list.
I made a “coat rack” to hang all of her little coats and carrier. It was really simple.
I just used a 1×8 painted it with the same Valspar Chalky Finish Paint I used for her lamp and added some hooks I purchased 50% off at Hobby Lobby. I did end up painting the hooks white and sanding them to distress.
I also dry brushed the board a little white because the color was a little bolder than I wanted for it. I think it turned out really sweet.
I also put up some shelves in her room. I need vertical storage since her room is so small. The changing table will be close to the shelves so I can put her essentials on them as well.
The shelves are just some 1×8’s painted white and again Hobby Lobby brackets (50% off of course).
This week my son will be getting his big boy bed so I can start to move the rest of the furniture she will be using of his into the room. Once that is in, I can start hanging all the fun decorative pieces!
Let’s take a look at where I am at:
Remove chair railPaint walls and trim- Sew new
curtains/pillows - Move in crib, changing table and chair from sons room
- Create wall decor
Book storage- New dresser
- Add lighting
- Add rug
- Add small side table
- Super organize clothes and changing area
Still a lot to do but it’s more of the easy stuff! Here’s hoping for a productive week!
