How to Install a Stair Runner

Adding a stair runner to bare stairs can create warmth, safety and just a really beautiful look.  Here is how to do it yourself.

MEasure

To figure out how long of a runner you need simply measure that riser and tread of each stair and add them together. Add an additional 10-12" extra.

InStall

Start from the top and make sure starting point is level. Secure with staples along top and in the bottom of riser.

InStall

Secure under the tread nose with staples and in the crease. Making sure runner is straight along the way.

Cut

When you get to the bottom cut with utility knife and tuck ends into trim.
