Board and Batten is a classic design element that is easy can can be done in an afternoon. It is also a great way to designate a space.
Like this one I did for our kids.
I always use primed or painted MDF for board and Batten it makes is very easy.
I use 1x4 for the horizontal pieces and 1x3 for the vertical.
The spacing is preference but I like 16" as the verticals will be in the stuff.
To attach to the wall you can use a construction adhesive or brad nails both work the best.
