While watching the now cancelled, Nate Berkus Show they had on “Mr. Goodwill Hunting” who made over a room for only $219. The art in the room was made out of canvas with upholstery nails, and string. I LOVED it, so I decided I would try to re-create something similar on a smaller scale.
While organizing my staging inventory storage unit, I came across this piece of art-
This is one of the first pieces of art I purchased for my inventory about 6 years ago. I used it in my very first staging, I think I purchased it at HomeGoods on clearance for about $18. I used a couple of times but I haven’t used in about 3 years, it also has a couple of scratches on it so I wouldn’t use it again.
The piece itself though is solid wood and could easily be spray painted over.
So that is exactly what I did.
I used gray because it is what I had on hand and I am also obsessed with gray right now and I feel the whole design world is as well.
After waiting 24 hours this is how I created the art.
Now the old art that I never used can be used as a neat piece of art adding texture and interest to any room or it can even be used at a photo frame/bulletin board.
