Using a liquid sander first, takes off gloss as well as cleans and creates a nice base for paint.

A full coat of primer will cover any wood or bleed through as well as help hide imperfections.

My go to paint for furniture is Benjamin Moore's Advanced Line. Dries rock hard and doesn't need a top coat.

Paint and adding new hardware give this piece a whole new look.
