January’s Homegirl Highlights

I often receive messages from readers asking me about products, paint colors and just my life in general.

So this year I decided every last Friday of the month I will post answers to my most asked questions, tell you about my favorite products and purchases and just about what’s happening.

So here is my first one!

What I am reading: The Girl on the Train

516YNFvZnrL._SX332_BO1,204,203,200_This was a nice fast read. I read it when we went on vacation earlier this month. It’s also being turned into a movie so I always like to read the book first!

What I am working on:

If you have been following along I have been all about organizing this month. It’s one of my goals to have all those annoying small projects around the house taken care of before this baby girl arrives in June. You can see the rest of my 2016 House Goals here.

Products I’m Using:

I am always painting something. Whether it’s the Ikea Dresser for my sons room or some projects that will be going into my office soon. I aways have a couple of these lying around. They are the best. I used to use plastic bags to keep my paint brushes usable but sometimes air would get in and they would be ruined.

Now I have a few of these Paint Brush Covers and they keep the paint brush usable for over a week! They have a roller cover too!

Fun I’ve Had:

A few weeks ago hubby, son and I took a family vacation down to Florida to visit my parents who are now partial snowbirds.

We had a great time, we swam, went to see the Manatees (which happen to be my favorite animal) and then the hubby and I went to Kennedy Space Center by ourselves for the day. It’s definitely more interesting when you’re older than the last time I went, which I was probably 12 or so.

What’s in store for next month:

Next month will be fun..it is my birthday month after all! I am going to continue to get the pesky projects done, as well as the organizing of my office/craft room. I’m already working on a pegboard project!

I’m also really going to try to ramp up my Etsy store. It’s been pretty sparse the last couple of months.

Do you have a question for me you’d like answered? Let me know!

I've never seen those paint brush covers - cool! I usually use a plastic bag, like you, or saran wrap. Great tip!!
